Penn State awaits its bowl fate

Penn State is in the running for a Rose Bowl berth. The team is not guaranteed a spot in Pasadena. If Purdue upsets Michigan, Penn State could be left out of a New Year's Six. James Franklin was a late sleeper pick to land the Auburn job. Manny Diaz was reportedly a finalist for FAU job that went to Tom Herman.   The biggest storyline is keeping the coaching staff together. It seems most likely that Manny will be back running a program. He did a wonderful job with the Nittany Lions’ defense in one season. Alabama and Tennessee are currently ranked higher than Penn Staters.
