Poggi Welcomes Froelich as Special Teams Coordinator and Running Backs Coach
Greg Froelich is the Charlotte 49ers' Special Teams Coordinator and Running Backs Coach. Froelsich was a special teams and running backs analyst at Michigan from 2017-20. He also worked at Illinois as a Special Team Analyst for the past two years. He helped coach the Illini's 2021 special team unit that was ranked No. 1 in the nation by ESPN's SP+ rating. Punter Blake Hayes and kicker James McCourt both earned All-Big Ten honors. Isaiah Williams was the Big Ten's top punt returner in 2022. In 2018, punter Will Hart was Second Team All America and Ray Guy Award finalist.
