Predicting Chris Livingston's 2023-24 stat line for the Milwaukee Bucks

With the final pick of an exciting 2023 NBA Draft, the Milwaukee Bucks selected Chris Livingston from the University of Kentucky.

The Bucks made it very clear that they wanted to add more youth and wings this off-season, and Livingston checks off both boxes. Not only is he a 6-foot-6 wing, but he’s also the youngest player they’ve had in a long time at 19 years old. After just one year of college, Livingston turned pro, and it will be interesting to see how his rookie year with the Milwaukee Bucks turns out.

Predicting Chris Livingston’s 2023-24 stat line for the Milwaukee Bucks

2023-24 Prediction: 3.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 0.3 steals, and 0.3 blocks while shooting 41.4 percent from the floor, 29.6 percent from three, and 70 percent from the free throw line in 9.4 minutes per contest.

Livingston faces an uphill battle to find minutes in the rotation. Not only will he be competing with seasoned vets like Malik Beasley, Pat Connaughton, and Grayson Allen, but he’ll also be facing off with other young players like MarJon Beauchamp and Andre Jackson Jr. At 19, Livingston is still an incredibly raw player and may not be the most NBA ready of the bunch.

In all likelihood, this year will be all about Livingston’s development. It could be similar to how big of a role A.J. Green played during his rookie campaign. Green averaged just 9.9 minutes per game in his rookie season, having spent a good chunk of time developing with the G-League. Now, he’s poised to take a massive leap in year two. Livingston could follow the same path.

When he is on the court, Livingston’s primary assignments will be playing tough defense while being a terror on the glass. At 6-foot-6, 220 lbs, Livingston is a bulkier forward, which could be of great use when defending bigger wings. It could also help down low when he’s in the paint trying to snatch rebounds. He must use that size to his advantage.

The biggest area that Livingston will have to work on is his offense. He wasn’t much of a scorer in college, and his long-range shooting leaves much to be desired. He won’t produce much offense in his rookie year, in all likelihood, but that’s one of the primary things he must work on if he wants to stick at this level and become a solid contributor to the Bucks’ success.
