Predicting Pat Connaughton's 2023-24 stat line for the Milwaukee Bucks
The 2022-24 NBA season was a tough one for Milwaukee Bucks’ forward Pat Connaughton.
After putting up the best numbers of his career the year prior, Connaughton saw his minutes and role regress mightily. This was partially due to an injury before the season, but even when he was healthy, Connaughton oftentimes found himself as the odd man out of the rotation. Now, he will aim to bounce back in a big way for the Milwaukee Bucks in 2023-24.

2023-24 Prediction: 8.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists, one steal, and 0.3 blocks while hitting 42.9 percent of his field goals, 39.2 percent of his 3-pointers, and 79 percent of his free throws in 25 minutes per game.
The biggest focus for Connaughton will be regaining his 3-point stroke. He shot 33.9 percent on his triples last season, which was quite a dip after two straight years above 37 percent. When he takes the court this year, he should be much better. Connaughton’s work ethic is one of his most underrated attributes, as he’s always in the gym. He likely spent all summer working on his shot.
In addition to being a strong outside shooter, Connaughton has done his part as a do-it-all guy for the Bucks, which should not cease. He’ll still haul in the rebounds, dish out assists, and get plenty of highlight-reel-worthy plays. One area Connaughton could post a new career high in could be steals. He’s a pest on that end and could translate that to a steal per game.
Connaughton may see an uptick in minutes compared to last season, but he’s still going to have his hands full competing with youngsters like MarJon Beauchamp and Andre Jackson Jr. Yet, one advantage the 30-year-old may have over his peers is his experience, as there may be situations where first-year coach Adrian Griffin wants to roll with his seasoned veterans.
In short, Connaughton should be much better this coming season than he was last season. Being healthy to start the season, unlike last year, should help mightily in that regard as he looks to find a groove with the Milwaukee Bucks right from the jump.
