Premier League Relegation Predictions

The latest Premier League odds suggest that Luton Town, Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest will be facing the drop in May, but Luke Lonergan has other ideas.

As a Premier League fan, predicting the Premier League table is tricky business but even trickier is coming up and staying in the division. The latest Premier League relegation odds and punters alike have Sheffield United and Luton Town down for the drop, and it’s difficult to disagree.

Both have the weakest squads in the division and with the Blades only seeming to weaken with the increasingly likely loss of Sander Berge, it’s no surprise they come in at 4/6 for an immediate return to the Championship. As for Luton, the fairytale may deliver a twist in its ending, but Rob Edwards has so far struggled to recruit proven Premier League heads to Kenilworth Road.

They sit as odds-on favourites to go down at 4/11. I’m backing them both for relegation. However, for the last of my Premier League relegation predictions I’m backing Wolves.

Chaos is reigning at Molineux - Lopetegui has gone, alongside Moutinho, Neves and Collins, with Matt Doherty the only significant addition - it may take a miracle worker to save them. A left field choice, but 11/4 relegation odds present a decent price if you agree.

Premier League Predictions – Weekend Longshots

Will we see any surprise results this weekend? Here’s three longshots to look out for across the first set of Premier League fixtures.

Newcastle vs Aston Villa

A huge clash for Saturday’s late kick off. Both teams have added real quality to their squads, but it is Villa who carry bragging rights from last season - their most recent meeting saw a 3-0 Villa victory and I think they might cause an upset at St. James’ Park. 19/5 odds for a Villa away win on Unibet? I’d take it.

Burnley vs Manchester City

Student vs teacher, what a way to open up the season. Burnley may have gone down 6-0 in the two sides’ FA Cup quarter final clash last season, but expect Vincent Kompany to be far more wily in his approach this time around. 10/1 odds for a Burnley win on BetUK suggest it is nearly impossible, but the impossible does happen, sometimes.

Brighton vs Luton Town

Many tip Brighton to continue their upward trajectory after their excellent showing last year. Luton, on the other hand, are the league’s most unknown quantity this season and, while heavily tipped for relegation, 19/2 for an away victory on the opening day is worth a go - newly promoted teams have been known to spring a surprise when it comes to the opening day.
