Premier League prop bets for Matchday 5: Bet on Declan Rice and Heung-min Son

We're targeting two players in this week's Premier League prop bets.

The pregame narrative: Declan Rice's tenure at Arsenal has been off to a hot start and we're backing the midfielder to record a shot on target against Everton. Meanwhile, Heung-min Son has his swagger back and is a good bet to score against Sheffield United.

EPL oddsas of 12:35 p.m. ET 09/14/2023.

Premier League prop bets

Best Bet: Declan Rice over 0.5 SOT (+215)

Rice was Arsenal's marquee signing this summer and the former West Ham man hasn't disappointed through four EPL games.

The midfielder has started every contest, playing at least 89 minutes each time. Rice has four total shots on target so far, clearing this total twice. He registered three SOT on Matchday 1 against Nottingham Forest and scored this electric game-winning goal against Manchester United on Matchday 4:

Rice is a facilitator and therefore isn't at the top of Arsenal's offensive pecking order. Martin Odegaard, Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah are players who Mikel Arteta would prefer to shoot the ball. But against a team like Everton, that doesn't matter to us.

The Blues have been a disaster the past two seasons and are 0-3-1 with eight goals allowed so far. They conceded the fifth-most SOT (179) last season and have given up 12 across their past two games in all competitions.

Rice is no striker but he is a solid offensive player. These plus-money odds are too good to ignore.

Key stat: Rice is averaging 1.25 SOT/90 this season.

Quick pick

Heung-min Son to score (-139): Tottenham are buzzing and Son has been at the forefront of the team's resurgence. The Korean captain netted a hat trick in the Spurs last game — a 5-2 victory over Burnley.

He's a solid bet to score this weekend against Sheffield, a team that's conceded seven goals and 27 shots on target through four games.

The Blades have also allowed 85 shot attempts (most in EPL) and that's resulted in the second-highest xGA (9.3), according to FBref.
