Odds to win the Premier League: Tottenham are surging under Ange Postecoglou

Inside The Star

The Premier League is off and running and Manchester City are favoured to defend their title.

The latest: City have won five of the past six titles and there's no indication they'll slow down any time soon. Arsenal came just shy of topping the Sky Blues last year and Tottenham hold interesting value at +2,000.

Here are the latest Premier League odds for the 2023/24 season.

Best Premier League odds

Man City have established themselves as not only the best team in England but all of Europe.

Pep Guardiola's side won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League, locking down a treble for the first time in club history.

They trailed Arsenal for most of last season in the EPL but ended up clearing the Gunners by five points when it was all said and done. City led the league in goals (94), goal differential (+61) and wins (28). That high-powered offence remains largely intact, too.

Erling Haaland scored a record-breaking 36 goals last season and he's already potted seven through five games this time around. Jack Grealish remains elite and Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez have largely untapped potential.

City won their opener, 3-0, and followed that up with four more victories. But the squad suffered a big loss as Kevin De Bruyne will miss three-to-four months with a hamstring injury.

Other Premier League choices

Tottenham were a mess last season but it looks like the team finally has a sense of direction under new manager Ange Postecoglou.

The Spurs sold Harry Kane to Bayern Munich for a massive fee before Matchday 1 but remain unbeaten despite losing their all-time leading goalscorer.

Tottenham drew Brentford 2-2 away before picking up back-to-back clean-sheet victories against Manchester United and Bournemouth. Then, they exploded for a 5-2 victory against Burnley on Matchday 4 and had an electric comeback victory against Sheffield United on Matchday 5.

The team was a +5,000 long shot to win the EPL. Those odds have since shortened to +2,000 but inexplicably rose to +3,000 even after the Spurs' last win. It'll take a lot to topple City but we're bullish on what Postecoglou is cooking up and down this roster.

Last year, Arsenal's season ended on a bad note for the second time in as many years.

The Gunners dropped out of the final Champions League spot due to a poor run of form down the stretch of the 2022-23 season, and last year they effectively threw away the Premiership by only winning three of their final nine games (3-3-3).

It was disappointing, but this is a deep and talented team that should come back stronger under Mikel Arteta. Arsenal recently bolstered their already strong midfield with the signings of Declan Rice and Kai Havertz.

The Gunners have picked up four wins and a draw through their first five EPL fixtures.
