Preview, Tips and Best Bets for Ipswich Wednesday, October 19

It's the third midweek in a row at Ipswich and we can expect an upset or two on the tricky track. The tight track favours front-runners. I want to be on those ridden by in-form jockeys.

Solaosa (6) is overdue to win a race. FAUSTO (1) led them up at the Sunshine Coast and wasn't far away at their last race, but Larry Cassidy will send him forward to decide his own fate. MEDIEVAL CROWN (4) made a good attempt to steal it at Sunshine coast.

GENTLE PRINCE (1) has won three times this preparation and finished top four at six of his past eight starts. COMMAND KING (2) found Saturday grade too much last start but is better suited here. Reflect The Stars (3) hasn't won for over a year but has had one trial. IN AGREEMENT (4) led them up at the Gold Coast and has a good record at this track.

Lee Freedman's stocks are improving. BINDING (5) wasn't disgraced in Saturday grade last start behind the stablemate Soothsayer. Cherokee Girl (7) was narrowly beaten here last time. Singer Sargent (1) came from a long way back to be runner-up at the Gold Coast. Birdonawing (4) has had her chances but the blinkers give her focus.

David Vandyke has elected to resume former boom galloper ORBISYN (1) at midweek level. Tony Gollan has returned SHAMATON (2) to mid week class. DYNAMIC DUO (8) is another returning to the mid-week company. Jim Byrne rides Ipswich. Brave Enough (5) hasn't been seen for a year but has had a change of stables and won his last two races.

Yours'll Be Mist (4) is the one to run down in the Benchmark 68 Handicap 1010m at Ipswich on Wednesday, October 19. Jim Orman replaces Cody Collis and with gate one the 3.5kg weight rise may not be enough to stop her. All Stashed Up (9) likes this track and beat a handy field when resuming. Preacher (8) was well beaten but met a good field and his trials have been promising. Dream Weaving (10) has placed at five of eight starts here.

Savagal (3) impressed Chris Waller when resuming over an unsuitable 1350m. Makaalu (6) was last seen in Listed company labouring behind subsequent winner Mr Maestro at Flemington. Dutch Gold (1) has been racing consistently and showed he was up to this grade when run down late by the in-form A Big Chance in a Class 3 here last start.

LITERMONT (8) will strip fitter from last start and get all the favours from gate one. OUR CALANTHA (2) was impressive when returning from a long break at the Gold Coast. YOUNOURJOKINGME RIGHT (3) made good ground when resuming at Sunshine Coast and will be hitting the line.

There is an open race in Benchmark 65 Handicap 1350m at Ipswich on Wednesday, October 19. MAJESTICS REQUEST (5) is the favourite. Dream Song (8) loves the track and Wendy Peel. He IS (3) won at his first start for the stable when fresh last preparation.
