Race-by-race preview, tips and best bets for Eagle Farm Wednesday, September 7

After a spate of Ipswich and Doomben midweeks it is back to the wide-open spaces of Eagle Farm. The firm surface can bother a few but with the rail out 10.5 metres all horses will get their chance. I am keen on a a couple of horses dropping back from Saturday grade.

Next best is Third Time Round (Race 7 No 12) on Wednesday, September 7th.

Blaze Boots (2) will be the winner in the Maiden Handicap 1500m at Eagle Farm on Wednesday, September 7. Dutch Gold (1) made good ground at Doomben when resuming in a stronger maiden than this. Dreaming Jeanie (4) is drawn poorly but won a recent trial for Desleigh Forster.

Lee Freedman has brought BOTTEGA back to midweek company. He won a Saturday race here over 1600m three starts back. CONFESSED (7) is fitter for two outings in mid week company in Sydney and won his only previous start here in Saturday grade over this trip. OUR REBEL (5) was unsighted when resuming in the Saturday grades but has a much better second-up record. Jasmine Cornish has an in-form claimer.

BOOM COURT (3) ran second to Hang Five when first-up last preparation. Rapid Dude (7) showed improvement when placing at Ipswich. Western Halo (15) wasn't disgraced in Saturday Three-year-old company last start. Bluffed (2) has shown nothing in two outings but has breeding on her side.

Chris Waller has dropped MOKTAFFY (6) back to the midweeks after being beaten by Vendidit and last Saturday's winner Blacklog. DERANI (1) found trouble and only just missed to MASTER MARKO (3) at the Gold Coast last start. PORT MOURANT (7) has shown improvement at each outing this preparation and was only narrowly beaten to Otyrar last outing.

GEMELON BOLT (1) has a poor record here but his recent Doomben form is hard to fault. VAPORIZING (4) had support but was a total flop last start in Saturday grade. RELIABLE RUBY (8) is freshened after finding it hard this preparation. BARADAS (5) will be strong late on the firm Eagle Farm surface.

Jamaican rumble (11) won on debut last preparation. AMITY GAL (3) showed promise at her first preparation and her most recent trial was dominant. ROYAL NICCI (9) has had a long break after leading throughout on her debut. Love's a riddle (4) was found out late over 1100m at the Gold Coast but won her Maiden here on this trip.

Tony Gollan is working the former Kiwi THIRD TIME ROUND (12) through the classes. She ran fourth in a Group 3 at the big Trentham track over 1600m before arrival. GOLDSCHLAGER (13) has been finding it hard to win but chased TH third time round ( 12) home last start. Dembe (4) bred for this trip and on the bigger circuit could be hard for him to run down again. SMYTZER was run late by a smart one at Ipswich when having his second outing for David Vandyke since coming North.

OPTIMO (6) came from a long way back at Randwick in Highway company last start. Jack Bruce has been making waves since setting up in Queensland and OCEAN EMPEROR (5) has benefited from two trials. ZUMA CALIFORNIA (3) frustrates but hasn't been far away at both outings since resuming. Jasmine Cornish's 3kg claim and gate one are no excuses.
