Queensland Oaks Day at Eagle Farm Tips, Race Previews and Selections

The 2022 QLD Oaks Day is at Eagle Farm this weekend. The staying fillies will be the main attraction.

Tony Gollan trained Youngblood is going to race in the Benchmark 85 Handicap (1800m) at Queensland Oaks Day.

The Gollan stable has a good chance at winning the first two races. Race 2 is a Class 6 Handicap (1400m). Palladas has placed well in this race.

Political Debate had a huge run in the Champagne Classic behind Swiss Exile. Sharp ‘N’ Smart won a Listed race in New Zealand last time out.

Midnight In Toyko won the Ken Russell Memorial on the Gold Coast last start. Sheeza Belter came out and won Sires’ Produce at Eagle Farm.

Queensland Oaks Day takes place at Eagle Farm. Race 5 is Listed Lightning Handicap (1000m). Chris Munce trained Boomova has won her first two starts this prep. Niedorp has placed in all three of her starts at this track and distance.

Never Talk is a mare capable of producing a rating good enough to be competitive in the Magic Millions National Classic. She was beaten half a length in Group 3 Hawkesbury Crown and followed that up with a third in Dark Jewel at Scone.

Kubrick won three of his last four starts during his previous campaign. He finished within two lengths of the winner in The Archer this time out in Rockhampton. Apache Chase won the Kingsford-Smith Cup last weekend.

Kementari has eight wins and $2.6 million in prize money ahead of the Moreton Cup. Wandabaa has been beaten by less than a length in her past two starts.

Gin Martini is having her 10th start this campaign. Smirk has missed a placed just once in six career starts. She has an awkward draw in this year's Queensland Oaks but is well over the odds at $23.

Athelric has won three races in a row in NSW. He will race in the Listed QLD Day Stakes (1200m) today.
