Garrett Whitlock has been injured since early June. He spent 36 days on the injured list this season. The Red Sox have implemented “The Whitlocks Rules” to make sure he doesn't need to sit out indefinitely.
Whitlock has a 3.46 ERA this season for the Red Sox. He's appeared in 28 games, getting nine starts and securing six saves. Whitlock was selected by the New York Yankees in the 18th round of the 2017 MLB Draft. In 2020, the Boston Red SO grabbed him in Rule 5 Draft and he made 46 regular-season appearances in 2021.
