Sale Sharks to partner with troubled Yorkshire Carnegie?

Yorkshire Carnegie's CVA was approved by majority of 100%. Around £1m in player wages will be settled for afraction of the sum. Sale Sharks director of rugby Steve Diamond and operations manager Paul Smith met with Carnegie officials last week to discuss ideas of mutual benefit. Carnegie will tap into a Sale player and coaching pool to assemble a squad and a coaching team from scratch for the start of 2019/2020 season. The arrangements need to be ratified by the RFU. Richmond supporters believe Carnegie could still be relegated from the Championship. Under RFu rules, a club can be bedded down to 28 points for poor financial management.
