Santa Anita gives irresistible incentives for Classic Meet

Classic Meet at Santa Anita opens on December 26. Min. Stakes Purse is $100,000.

Classic Race Meeting at Santa Anita Park opens on Monday, Dec. 26. It will offer the largest purse structure in Santa Monica's storied 88-year history. The Camino Real, turf chute and turf oval will provide a wide variety of options for horses sprinting and going a route of ground. For the first time, all Santa Anaitian stakes on turf or dirt will carry a minimum purse of $100,000. All allowance races will now include a “state-bred” provision. The first condition horse that has won a state- bred race anywhere in the country is still eligible for a $72,00 first-condition allowance.

Santa Anita 2022-23 Purse Increases. First Condition Allowance increased from $69,000 to $72,00. Second Condition allowance increased $2,500 to $75, 000. Third Condition allowances increased from $73,200 to $76,600. All Open Allowances Races will have a purse of $85,300.
