Newmarket racing tips

2.50, bet365 Mile Handicap: Bluelight Bay 12/1

A great each-way option for a horse back on this mark after being suited to the step up to 1m last time out.

A decent enough sixth place at Epsom on his first run after being gelded and looks capable of progressing further under Charles Bishop.

3.25, Superlative Stakes: Great Truth 3/1

A great price for a horse that won on debut comfortably despite running slightly green and was bumped a couple furlongs out.

Regardless of all that he won by five and a half lengths going away and has potential of adding to that in a very competitive contest with some with more experience.

Haatem is a huge price considering his Group 2 run just fifth to River Tiber, and steps up to 7f for the first time.

But this horse is in great hands with great strike rates from both trainer and jockey.

Charlie Appleby at 35% on Friday morning and William Buick at a 32% and that's all the more impressive with a huge 53 rides and 17 winners.

The Godolphin crew are clearly running to form now and making up for lost time from a slight dip in form last month.

4.35, July Cup Stakes: Shaquille & Little Big Bear exacta

It's rare to see Little Big Bear such a big price and after O'Brien suggested there was only a 50-50 chance of him running this after a bruise set him back, he's still entered into this greatly competitive contest.

Little Big Bear's two-year-old career was incredible after winning at Royal Ascot by a neck in the Windsor Castle he went on to win, by a wide margin, the Anglesey Stakes and then the Phoenix Stakes, in Group 1 company.

The step up to 1m did not suit at all in the 2000 Guineas and there were also reasonings to see him drop out even further on that day.

Put that behind him to win at Haydock next time under Frankie Dettori and wasn't that far behind the winner of the Commonwealth Shaquille despite being the 10/11 favourite.

Shaquille won that well even with rearing at the start and that took his winning streak to five, progressing from Class 2 handicap to a listed race to a Group 1 in just three races, heading up from 94 to 117.

This came at a time where it was rare to see a favourite win though and they could battle it out in first and second again.

York racing tips

3.45: Hamish 4/6

Consistent sort and will be a popular bet considering his Group 1 form at the Curragh just under a length off of Kyprios.

Has continued in great consistent style too beating Cresta at Ascot, just a head second to Max Vega at Newbury before returning this season to win by over a length.

One of a few horses who will want a bit of rain though which is set to be showering across the weekend.

Ascot racing tips

2.20: Master Of The Seas 10/3

The Godolphin team look to have another potential big winner with Master Of The Seas.

It's highly competitive but the Dubawi gelding has shown decent Group 1 and Group 2 form.

He won here in April 2022 and has since had three runs at Meydan and will be interesting back in Britain.

He was a close third behind Alfareeq two starts ago and has had a nice break to recover from that international stint.

Chester racing tips

4.27: Holguin 4/1

Well-weighted against these rivals as one of the youngsters being given 8lb from Witch Hunter.

Was suited to the Epsom track in the Derby festival's Surrey Stakes and has been in great form this year rarely finishing out of the top two.

Still a big prospect and likely to find the winning formula soon enough and at this price it's worth siding with him again.
