Scotland now ODDS-ON to qualify for Euro 2024 after Spain heroics as Norway 'to miss out'

SCOTLAND are now ODDS-ON to qualify for next year's Euro 2024.

Bookmakers Paddy Power price Steve Clarke's men at 8/15 to qualify from Group A after the sensational win over Spain at Hampden.

The Tartan Army will have one eye on the flights to Germany - well, those who haven't booked already - after a pair of convincing wins to kickstart qualification seeing them top the group.

They do have the fall back of a play off thanks to their Nations League exploits but Clarke has said on several occasions he's not focussed on that, instead looking to do so from their qualification group.

Despite the defeat on Glasgow's southside, top seeds Spain are overwhelming favourites to qualify as group winners.

They were underwhelming and stifled comfortably in the end by a Scotland side who created two or three great chances to make the score line more comfortable.

But their opening day win over Norway puts them second in the group with the two lower nations to come.

They are 1/20 with Paddy Power to qualify.

From the outset, it looked a straight up battle between Scotland and Norway for that all-important second spot.

Scotland's trip to Oslo this summer was pinpointed as a key fixture in the group.

But Norway's draw in Georgia prior to Scotland's heroics have firmly put Erling Haaland's nation on the back foot.

So much so, they're now 11/8 to qualify out the group, with Scotland now 8/15.

Those odds are likely to change after the next round of games with that Norway trip followed by a home tie with Georgia.

The Georgians are 16/1 to qualify with Cyprus the outsiders now at 33/1.
