Norway vs Scotland betting preview

Table toppers Scotland are looking to continue their 100% record on Saturday with a trip to Norway.

Steve Clarke's men have had a perfect start to the campaign with a 3-0 win over Cyprus kicking things off.

But matchday two's 2-0 win over European giants Spain laid a serious marker down in qualification and puts the Tartan Army well in the driving seat.

They're now odds on at 1/2 to finish in the top two in the group and secure qualification for next summer's tournament.

Those odds could swing dramatically either way on Saturday when they visit their chief threat for those spots in Norway.

With danger man Erling Haaland on the party train with Manchester City earlier this week, it could be the perfect time to visit. Though they do have other dangerous players across the pitch.

Norway are around even money to get the three points and it's being built as a must win for them, even at this early stage.

Scoland avoiding defeat would be massive, particularly with a home game with Georgia to follow.

Even Stephen

If Scotland could go out and make it three wins from three, that puts them in an unbelievable position in the group.

But John Carver's comments in the build-up about potentially taking the draw if the game plays out that way suggests they've discussed 'just not losing'.

Haaland won't be at his 100& best - hopefully - and Scotland have just as much firepower outwith him.

A draw isn't the end of the world by any means and that could come into the reckoning later in the day.

Main man

John McGinn has been the main man for Clarke during his tenure.

He has four goals in his last seven international appearances.

Has come up trumps on the big nights and could do so yet again.

Scott's squad

He's scored Scotland's last four goals and could continue his hot streak as the danger man.

Scott McTominay's move back into the Scotland midfield has worked wonders recently and will hope to keep his spot there with the rejuvenation of Billy Gilmour in recent months to play alongside Callum McGregor.

One thing is for sure, he'll play at some point and his athleticism to get Scotland up the park could be crucial.
