Sheldon Keefe's odds of being fired are out

How much rope does he have left?

Sheldon Keefe has been behind the Toronto Maple Leafs bench as head coach since taking over for Mike Babcock, who was fired in November of 2019. And Keefe now has the distinction of being the first Maple Leafs head coach since Pat Quinn in 2004 to help them advance past the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs thanks to their thrilling victory over the rival Tampa Bay Lightning in six games this spring.

But just how much rope does he have remaining? The odds of NHL coaches who are officially on the hot seat have been recently released, and Keefe finds himself within the top five according to a recent polling via The Athletic.

Do the Leafs have to advance once again at least past the first round in order for Keefe's job to be safe? Or is the expectation more than that this time around?
