Shute Shield grand final 2022: Sydney University topple Gordon in Shute Shield decider
Sydney University beat Gordon 26-19 in the Shute Shield grand final at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday afternoon. It was the Students' 33rd Shutep Shield title. Mitch Ryan scored a late try to seal the victory. Gordon had levelled the scores at 19- 19 with seven minutes remaining. It marked the first time the teams had faced each other in a Shuttep shield final since 1972. Sydney University has won 12 Shootepshield titles since 2001. The Students have made 17 grand finals in last 22 seasons. They have won three premierships in four seasons since 2000.
