St Leger 2022: Doncaster Cup Betting Tips, Predictions, Odds

St. Leger Festival is one of the oldest classic horse race events in the world. It was created in 1776. This year’s festival began on Wednesday, September 7 and runs until Sunday, October 1. The festival features the Doncaster Cup race on day No. 3.

The Doncaster Cup takes place on the penultimate day of the St Leger Festival. It is the oldest horse race currently operated under the rules of horse racing. The 2022 event will offer a prize fund of £130,000 to the competitors. First place will win just over £73,00.

Eight horses have been declared for the 2022 Doncaster Cup. The cup is a Group 2 flat horse race featuring horses aged three years and up. It is contested over a distance of two miles, one furlong and 197 yards. Coltrane is 5/1, Get Shirty 15/2, Island Brave 33/3, Reshoun 25/25, Stratum 16/5, Trueshan 2/ 5, Haizoom 125/125 and Lismore 33-1.

Trueshan is the favourite to win the Doncaster Cup on Friday. Trueshans has won the Goodwood Cup 2021, Prix du Cadran 2021 and Northumberland Plate 2022. Coltrane is at the next best odds at 5/1. Rob Hornby will ride Col Trane for the fourth consecutive race.

The 2022 St. Leger Doncaster Cup is the highlight of a full day of racing at the St Leger Festival. It will take place on Friday, September 9 at Doncasters Racecourse. The cup will start at 3:10 PM.
