Stage Set for F1-Golf Crossover Event

Streaming giant Netflix is looking to capitalize on the success of two hit documentaries—'Formula 1: Drive to Survive' and 'Full Swing'—with Tuesday's Netflix Cup featuring stars from both Formula 1 and the PGA Tour. Wynn Golf Club at Wynn Las Vegas hosts Tuesday's inaugural Netflix Cup, with the first-of-its-kind event being streamed live on, you guessed it, Netflix.

Lando Norris of McLaren Racing, Carlos Sainz of Scuderia Ferrari, Alex Albon of Williams Racing, and BWT Alpine's Pierre Gasly will represent Formula 1 as stars of Netflix's hit Drive to Survive. They'll be competing with and against PGA Tour pros Rickie Fowler, Justin Thomas, Max Homa, and Collin Morikawa, who each appeared in the first season of Netlix's Full Swing.

The crossover event is taking place the week of F1's Las Vegas Grand Prix and the PGA Tour's RSM Classic.

Match 1

Sainz and Thomas are slight betting favorites against Norris and Fowler. The -120 odds for the favorites represent a 54.55% implied win probability. It would take a $120 wager to fetch a return of $100 on a winning the ticket.

Likewise with the above, Albon and Homa are modest favorites over Gasly and Morikawa, with little separation in the odds. It would take a $100 bet on the underdogs for a return of $100 with a winning wager.

Netflix Cup rules & format

The Netflix Cup will be played as a two-man scramble over eight holes between teams featuring one PGA Tour pro and one F1 driver. Each player hits a tee shot and the teams then choose their preferred shot of the two and both hit from there. This continues until each team has a ball in the hole.

The winners of Match 1 will meet the winners of Match 2 in the final, with that match deciding the winner of the Netflix Cup.
