This edition of the Red River Rivalry at neutral-site Dallas has enormous national implications as both teams are undefeated and ranked in the top 12.

Texas enters the game as a 5.5-point favorite at FanDuel and most sportsbooks and is a -225 moneyline favorite. The game is Saturday at Noon ET on ABC. Here are Texas vs. Oklahoma odds, predictions, picks and the best college football promos and bonuses for Oct. 7.

Texas vs. Oklahoma odds, preview and prediction: (Texas -5.5)

Revenge is on the minds of 12th-ranked Oklahoma. The Sooners lost to Texas last year, 49-0, Oklahoma’s first loss in the rivalry game in five years. This year’s winner has the inside track to qualify for the Big 12 championship game.

According to ESPN, the Allstate Playoff Calculator estimates the winner will enjoy a 70% chance to reach the College Football Playoff. The odds to reach the CFP drops to 30% for the loser.

Third-ranked Texas is 5-0 for the first time since 2009, the last time the Longhorns won the Big 12.

Both teams are coming off massive offensive outbursts. Oklahoma (5-0) had 523 yards against Iowa State and Texas put up 661 yards against No. 24 Kansas.

Texas should have an advantage at quarterback with Heisman Trophy candidate Quinn Ewers. He has completed 97-of-147 passes (66%) for 1,358 yards, 10 touchdowns and one interception.

Oklahoma quarterback Dillon Gabriel was injured and didn’t play in last year’s game. His stats are impressive, too (118-of-157, 75%; 1,593 yards, 15 touchdowns, two interceptions).

Texas has defeated two ranked teams this season — 40-14 over Kansas and 34-24 at Alabama. The Longhorns’ impressive performances, plus Ewers’ talent and a solid defense (17th in the country), make them a solid favorite to defeat Oklahoma and cover the spread.
