The biggest questions for 2022 MLB awards

Awards Week 2022 is this week. The 2022 Rookies of the Year, Managers of. the year, Cy Young Award winners and Most Valuable Players will be announced.

Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado will be the rare 1-2 MVP tandem in 2022.

Goldschmidt and Arenado are both NL MVP finalists. They are on the same team as Manny Machado. Only six other teammates have finished 1-2 in the voting.

Justin Verlander is an AL finalist for the 2022 Cy Young Award. He is looking to become the 11th pitcher to win three Cy Yorks. He won with the Tigers in 2011 and the Astros in 2019.

The AL Rookie of the Year is almost definitely going to be Julio Rodríguez. In the NL, the choice is between Harris and Strider. Harris batted .297 with 19 home runs and 20 stolen bases, while Striders went 11-5 with a 2.67 ERA and 202 strikeouts in 131 2/3 innings.

Showalter is one of three NL finalists for the Manager of the Year Award. He is up against Brian Snitker of Braves and Dave Roberts of Dodgers. Showalter won the award in 1994 with the Yankees, 2004 with Rangers and 2014 with Orioles. If he wins in 2022, he will join Bobby Cox and Tony La Russa as the only managers to win the Award four times.
