The Everest 2023: Final field with emergencies revealed

I Wish I Win will carry the No.1 saddlecloth in The Everest.

The 12 runners for Australia's racing's richest prize have been assembled and saddlecloth numbers allocated ahead of Saturday's $20m The Everest at Randwick.

The four general emergencies have also been named and saddlecloths assigned.

This will be the seventh running of the biggest game changer in Australian racing.

The Everest was introduced in 2017 when the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Redzel became the inaugural winner, 12 months later he also became the first multiple winner of the race.

In 2019, Yes Yes Yes wrote his name into the history books when becoming the first three-year-old to be successful in the weight-for-age sprint while we are still waiting for the first mare to win the race.

This year's field is made up of seven entires and geldings, three mares and two three-year-old colts.

TJ Smith Stakes winner I Wish I Win has the honour of carrying the number one saddlecloth while last year's runner-up Private Eye is number two.

The Everest TAB fixed odds prices as at 9am Tuesday are: I Wish I Win ($4), Think About It ($4.50), Private Eye ($6), Buenos Noches ($8), Cylinder ($11), Hawaii Five Oh ($11), In Secret ($15), Overpass ($15), Espiona ($17), Shinzo ($17), Mazu ($26) and Alcohol Free ($34).
