Three races to savour at Royal Ascot

Royal Ascot goes ahead on Tuesday despite being behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Battaash is favourite for the King's Stand Stakes. He has won the previous two renewals. Glass Slippers is the main rival. She won a Prix de l'Abbaye last October. She is a high-class filly. The favourite has not landed the odds in the past 10 runnings.

Ascot Gold Cup takes place on Thursday. Dettori's horse Stradivarius is favourite to win. Aidan O'Brien decided not to send Kew Gardens. Nayef Road is the main challenger for Dittori. Mark Johnston has won the Gold Cups three times. He would prefer to have won it than any other race. He has a special fondness for the Ascot Gold cup.

Pinatubo and Wichita finished one place apart in St James's Palace Stakes. Kameko won the race. He is being aimed at the Derby in July.
