Thunder at Rockets, Feb. 25: Prediction, point spread, odds, best bet

In the aftermath of Friday’s thrilling win over Phoenix, the young Houston Rockets (25-31) are an impressive 20-9 at home this season.

But the competition gets more difficult on Sunday, when the surging Oklahoma City Thunder (39-17) visit Toyota Center.

The Thunder are tied for the best record in the Western Conference, and their +8.0 point differential (on a per-game basis) leads the West and ranks second in the entire NBA for the 2023-24 season.

If you’d like last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We have the latest point spread, money line odds and over/under number, as well as all the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet.

Sunday’s game starts at 6 p.m. Central and can be seen on the Space City Home Network and NBA League Pass.

Here’s a look at Sunday’s lines:

  • Point spread: Thunder -6.5
  • Money line: Thunder -250 / Rockets +195
  • Over/Under: 234.5

Thunder at Rockets injury report:

Houston’s injury report lists Steven Adams (right knee PCL surgery) and Tari Eason (left lower leg injury management) as out, while Nate Hinton and Jermaine Samuels Jr. are in the G League.

With Oklahoma City’s entire roster healthy, Keyontae Johnson, Ousmane Dieng, and Adam Flagler are with the G League affiliate.

Advice and prediction

Led by MVP candidate Shai-Gilgeous Alexander, the Thunder enter with four straight wins and seven victories in their last nine games.

The Thunder are the better team, but Houston is 20-9 at home, and one of those wins came over Oklahoma City in December. Big man Chet Holmgren lacks the bulk to cause Alperen Sengun problems.

Even so, with two straight games between the teams (the rematch is Tuesday night in Oklahoma City), expect the Thunder to be more dialed in for a Rockets-specific game plan over this set.

Prediction: Thunder 121, Rockets 113
