Thunder vs. Spurs NBA expert prediction and odds for Thursday, Feb. 29 (How to bet on OKC)

The Thunder and Spurs meet on Thursday night in San Antonio as the Thunder look to further its case for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.

Oklahoma City has had little issue with San Antonio this season, but all eyes will be on the individual matchup between Chet Holmgren and Victor Wembanyama, the two contenders for Rookie of the Year. While OKC has had the team success, it's been the French sensation who has won the matchup.

Chet Holmgren: The battle of two outstanding rookies, Holmgren will look to get the better of runaway Rookie of the Year favorite Wembanyama on Thursday. OKC got the better of the Spurs both times this season, winning by double digits in each, but Holmgren has failed to score more than 20 points, can he have a big game against a poor Spurs defense?

Victor Wembanyama: The hype is real for the French big man. Even in a dismal season for San Antonio, Wembanyama has dazzled, averaging over 20 points with 10 rebounds, three assists, and three blocks. While the team can't string together wins, Wemby has proven his worth.

The Thunder have had little issue beating up on the lowly Spurs this season, winning each game by double digits, and I expect the team to make quick work of San Antonio yet again, but I'm not interested in laying the points

I'd prefer to target just the Thunder offense, and take its team total over.

Both teams are inside the top 10 in terms of pace and the Thunder rank third in terms of offensive rating, per NBA.com. Meanwhile, San Antonio is 24th in defensive rating despite Wembanyama's unicorn ability as a defender, able to swat shots near the rim and on the perimeter.

OKC has scored 123 and 140 points against the Spurs in the two games this season, I'll take the over in hopes the team can play up to expectation.
