Spurs can return to the summit

Spurs were knocked off top spot in the Premier League at the weekend by a rampant Manchester City, but the Lilywhites can edge back above the champions with a victory over Chelsea.

Ange Postecoglu’s side are protecting the only unbeaten record in the division after Arsenal’s loss at Newcastle United on Saturday, and they can continue last season’s dominance over the Blues.

They took four points off Chelsea in their two meetings and won the corresponding fixture 2-0, having lost nine and drawn two of the previous 11 meetings between the sides.

Spurs have scored in every match this season, while Chelsea’s inconsistencies were laid bare when they lost 2-0 at home to Brentford following a 2-2 draw at Arsenal. The hosts are looking to make it five wins on the bounce in the Premier League and recent performances suggest they can do so.

Romero worth a shot

Heung-min Son and James Maddison have rightly taken most of the plaudits for some stellar displays this season, but Postecoglou is getting a tune out of most of his team and there are some great value alternatives to the main men in the goalscorer markets.

Cristian Romero has scored two goals in 10 league appearances and the Argentina centre-back, who is a considerable threat at set-pieces, is a hefty price to grab his third goal of the season.

Maddison’s set-piece deliveries have yielded five assists in 10 games while generating 2.6 chances every 90 minutes. Son has been the main beneficiary, but six other Spurs players have scored this season, so Chelsea have plenty to fear, and their weaknesses at the back have been exposed regularly this season.

West Ham centre-back Nayef Aguerd and Brentford defender Ethan Pinnock have both netted against the Blues and Spurs are averaging 5.8 corners per game. Anything near that figure could provide the ammo for them to strike – and Romero looks too big a price to ignore.

Tottenham vs Chelsea tip 2: Christian Romero to score @ 16/1 with Sky Bet

Son the danger man

Son has been unstoppable this season with eight goals to his name already after just 10 matches.

With Harry Kane’s departure, the South Korean has taken on more responsibility in attack and he has had 28 shots at goal in 10 appearances this season.

And with Spurs unlikely to run away with things against Chelsea, a win by 1-0, 2-0, or 2-1 looks likely, while Son to have at least two shots on target at the same time seems a great bet at 8/1.

Tottenham vs Chelsea tip 3: Bet builder: Heung-min Son 2+ shots on target and Tottenham to win 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 @ 8/1 with Sky Bet
