Twins’ Luis Arraez achieves ‘dream’ AL batting title despite tough final stretch
Arraez was trying to avoid the distraction of the competition for the batting title. Joe Mauer won the title in 2006. Arraz had a hamstring problem during the season. He didn't play games last Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. He played first base twice in seven games and designated hitter in five. The team didn’t win the division title until the final day of season, so Arrez didn to play. His absence drew criticism from New Yorkers. They wanted to see Aaron Judge eclipse Ararez.
