Verstappen a Heavy Favorite on The Strip

We've nearly reached the end of the road in the 2023 F1 season as Las Vegas Grand Prix odds have hit the board for this brand-new race in Sin City.

Belgian Max Verstappen has already clinched the 2023 Formula 1 Drivers' Championship in a historically dominant campaign. Still, he's favored to put some icing on the cake in the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix on Sunday, November 19.

The all-new 6.2km, 17-turn street circuit winds its way around such Las Vegas landmarks as Caesars Palace, the Bellagio, and the Venetian. Adding to the scenery, the race will begin at 10 p.m. PT on Saturday night under the lights.

With a level playing field, is Verstappen still worth a wager at these odds, or will he be upset on The Strip?

Here's our look at the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix odds (odds via our best sports betting apps).

Las Vegas Grand Prix betting analysis

Our best sports betting apps wasted no time putting prohibitive odds on Verstappen, ranging from -250 to -400, despite the unfamiliar environment this race offers. The only other drivers with consensus odds below +2000 across our best sportsbooks are Brits Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton, and Monacan Charles Leclerc. An outlier +2100 ticket for Hamilton can be found via FanDuel.

FanDuel is one of our best sports betting sites to post a 'winner without' market. Without Verstappen in the field, Sergio Perez is a -600 favorite over Hamilton (+380).

Max Verstappen (-250 via Caesars)

It's easy to see why Verstappen is such a heavy favorite, even on a track no one's ever raced on, as he's won 17 of 20 races this year. He was second in two of those three losses and fifth in September's Singapore Grand Prix, which ended a 10-race win streak.

Street circuits have been Verstappen's undoing, relatively speaking, as he's lost on three of the first six such events in 2023.

Las Vegas Grand Prix odds 2023: Long shot

The biggest threat to Verstappen on Nov. 19 comes from Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez. The Mexican driver won two of the first three street races, has 13 top-five finishes, and is second in laps led (138) this season.

Perez recovered from a disastrous Turn 1 incident in the Mexico GP with a fourth-place result in the Sao Paolo GP when last seen.

How to bet on the Las Vegas Grand Prix

The most popular bet on any F1 race is outright winner. To place that wager, simply select the driver you think will finish first from one of our best sports betting sites.

Betting on a podium finish, or a top-three, is another common wager. You can also bet on a top-10 result. Pole position winner can also be wagered on prior to these events.

The most unique props are "without" markets, which remove heavy favorites and allow bettors to pick from the best of the rest. These markets have become much more common in 2023 with Max Verstappen winning nearly every race at odds-on.
