Warwick Farm tips: Freedman’s filly to win again

Form analyst Jett Hatton gives his best bets and runs the rule over every race for Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

BEST BET

Race 2 No.6: JUST GISELLA

Strong winner first-up at Hawkesbury after last being seen in the Gimcrack Stakes. Has good upside and can win again.

NEXT BEST

Race 5 No.7: CORIOLIS

Consistent Godolphin mare that was five weeks between runs when fourth to Tashi last start. James McDonald sticks and the switch from Canterbury to Warwick Farm is suitable.

VALUE BET

Race 3 No.9: FAY’S ANGELS

Handy staying mare that was a good winner on her home track at Taree last time out. The last time she got out past 2000m was a sixth placing in Pennyweka’s Group 1 Australian Oaks.

QUADDIE

Race 4: 1,4,5

Race 5: 7,10

Race 6: 7,9

Race 7: 6,11,12,17

JOCKEY TO FOLLOW

Nash Rawiller heads to Warwick Farm with rides in five of seven races, all of which are hard in the market.

INSIDE MAIL

RACE 1

Capzinzi is a daughter of Capitalist for the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace juggernaut. Have liked both her two starts in tough races and she’s drawn well with Jason Collett in the saddle. Has hit the line strongly at both starts to suggest the step up to seven furlongs won’t be an issue. Mojave Desert has looked a treat at the trials, James McDonald on at the latest and he rides for the first-up assignment. The $950,000 yearling should improve for the run but looks wound up enough to be competitive here. Dimitrov beat all but Kementari’s only son Manwe at his last start. Nash Rawiller goes aboard and he’s made improvement at both starts to suggest a win isn’t far off. The Richard Litt-trained Autunno is capable of surprising at a price out in trip.

Bet: Capzinzi to win.

RACE 2

Impressed by the return of Just Gisella first-up at Hawkesbury and think she gets here with good improvement out to 1200m. She was first-up since tackling the Gimcrack Stakes as an early two-year-old and did start $8 in that Group 3. Barrier three and Brett Prebble sticks aboard the daughter of Justify. James Cummings brings Massira up from Melbourne. Good effort at The Valley last start on a day where it was a big advantage to be on the rail and at the front. Barrier two here with Zac Lloyd in the saddle suits. Chris Waller’s galloper Ashfall bumped into a handy one on debut, namely the Group 1 JJ Atkins winner King Colorado. Didn’t show much at his recent trial but the booking of Nash Rawiller and market support ($4.50-$3.60) is a lead. Stablemate Fightertown gets here first-up as a gelding. Two trials have been good, gets barrier three and our best jockey in James McDonald.

Bet: Just Gisella to win, quinella with Massira.

RACE 3

Taree-trained mare Fay’s Angels is going super. Turned in three promising runs before her all-the-way win at home last time out and the last time she got out to a similar trip to what she races at on Wednesday, she finished sixth in Pennyweka’s Group 1 Australian Oaks. This is her toughest test since that day but gets in with a light weight for the mother/daughter combination of Karen and Maddy Owen. The Milkybar Kid continues to race well but is starting to prove costly to his fans. Should find his way straight to the front for 3kg claimer Amy McLucas. Whangaehu was a late scratching at Rosehill last start as a $5.50 chance. This is an easier race and he’s a similar price.

Bet: Fay’s Angels each-way.

RACE 4

Hollywood Hero continues to put in strong performances this preparation and a return to Warwick Farm suits where he’s one for one. That win at the track was the start before Bjorn Baker gave him a crack at this year‘s Group 1 Randwick Guineas. Sticking at the mile suits him as well. Keith Dryden brings Eastern Glow to town again off two solid runs in tougher grade. Finished fourth to Mogo Magic first-up, beating subsequent winners Tintookie and Diamond Dealer, and then didn’t get any room last start. Going well. Lolly Yeats likely leads again from a positive barrier with Adam Hyernonimus in the saddle. The daughter of dual French Group 1 winner Lawman should be in the mix again. The Anthony Cummings-trained Kahawaty is going better than the formguide would suggest. Steps from 1250m up to a mile for the first time.

Bet: Hollywood Hero win, trifecta with Eastern Glow and Lolly Yeats.

RACE 5

Godolphin galloper Coriolis was five weeks between runs last start at Canterbury when making OK ground behind Tahsi. Drawn a bit trickier here in barrier 11 after having the inside last start but James McDonald sticks and Warwick Farm is probably a more suitable track for her. Outside of the debut run, she’s never finished worse than fourth in nine starts. Arrowfield mare Orzala was a drifter first-up ($4.50-$7) at Newcastle but ran well, finishing runner up to Silvanito. First-up off 42 weeks that day, so should get here with plenty of improvement second-up and up slightly in trip to 1300m. Southern Chilli finished behind the top pick Coriolis three runs back in Melbourne. Has had two runs at Canterbury since, winning the first before not having much luck when seventh to Tashi. Outsider in the mix too.

Bet: Coriolis to win.

RACE 6

As mentioned in the race prior, Godolphin’s Silvanito beat home Orzala last time out at Newcastle in good style. Looks ready for the 1300m fourth-up into his preparation and while he’s got a tricky barrier, Nash Rawiller goes aboard. Whinchat is going well. Did himself zero favours two back at Randwick, firing up in the run before dropping out late. Made his way to the front last start at Canterbury and rewarded his fans with a strong win. Up in weight here but draws well with Jay Ford sticking in the saddle. The John O’Shea-trained Kokoro resumes after two trials and has won 50 per cent of his four first-up runs. Has a runner up finish to Lindermann on the CV last campaign. River Snitty was a first-up winner off a 62-week break. Strong market support that day as well ($5.50 into $4.20).

Bet: Silvanito to win, quinella with Whinchat.

RACE 7

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Sovereign Fund returns as a gelding and looked good at his trial. Hasn’t won since taking out his first two starts but the last time we saw him, he was OK behind the Coolmore favourite Ozzmosis. Does have a tricky barrier though. Gerry Harvey’s mare Millybella continues to race well. Her third placing to Secaution last start reads well with Xtravagant Star (second) winning at Rosehill last Saturday. Keith Dryden has put the crossover nose band on Fangela after going keen at his recent starts. Can surprise at big odds. Silentstar was a good winner on resumption and draws to get the run of the race.
