Race 1. (12:50) Tab Maiden Handicap (1600m)

#5 – Genetic Freak @ $3.60

Genetic Freak almost scored at Hawkesbury last start, so we’re happy to stick with the Chris Waller gelding.

The son of Shalaa has been paying big odds to win, so $3.60 is a drop in price, but this race is there for the taking.

Having James McDonald in the saddle could make all the difference.

Race 2. (13:25) Home Affairs @ Coolmore Maiden (1200m)

#1 – Snapback @ $3.50

Snapback ran second to Lazzago on debut at Randwick, and that form has been franked at a high level.

The two-year-old colt by Snitzel is bred to show early speed and he comes off a solid trial placing at Randwick.

Jumping from barrier nine isn’t easy, but he has more upside than most in this field.

Race 3. (14:00) Racing and Sports Maiden (1200m)

#6 – Azula @ $7.50

On debut for the Waterhouse/Bott stable is Azula, who has looked good at the recent trials.

The two-year-old daughter of Maurice won a trial at Warwick Farm two back before placing at Randwick, so she looks well prepared for her debut.

Barrier four should allow her to hit the ground running and find the front.

Race 4. (14:35) Bowermans BM72 (2130m)

#6 – Left Reeling @ $6.50

Left Reeling was only 1.5 lengths behind the winner last start, and she wasn’t ridden the way she normally is.

The stayer rises in distance and drops in class, so that’s an asset, which is why the $6.50 is such a value price from bookmakers.

Having Nash Rawiller riding only adds weight to her chances.

Race 5. (15:10) Schweppes BM78 (1300m)

#10 – Queen Yuna @ $5

Queen Yuna is gunning for her third consecutive win after scoring at Randwick and Hawkesbury.

The four-year-old mare showed a good turn-of-foot last start, which is an excellent betting guide for this tricky race.

She has good form on rain affected tracks, which is another bonus.

Race 6. (15:45) Vinery Yearlings BM64 (1100m)

#13 – Eagle Nest @ $2.40

Eagle Nest was far too strong for the opposition when winning by 4.8 lengths at Hawkesbury last start, and that form has since been franked.

The three-year-old filly is bred to enjoy wet conditions, so she could be one to follow during the autumn and winter months.

We see that form continuing, and the second favourite is Gilmore, who she put 4.8 lengths on.

Race 7. (16:20) Precise Air BM72 (1200m)

#10 – Celestial Spirit @ $6.50

Celestial Spirit needs to regain her best form, but she is a past fresh up winner, and she drops in class.

She had been running behind the likes of Boogie Dancer and She’s Lickitysplit in Melbourne, which is Group 1 form.

Her recent trials have been solid enough to suggest that she’ll be winning soon.

Race 8. (16:55) Furphy BM78 (1600m)

#6 – Kokoro @ $3.30

Kokoro looked the goods when winning fresh up at Randwick before placing at Rosehill and Randwick.

The four-year-old son of Real Impact is a four-time winner overall and two-time winner over the distance, so the statistics read well.

He handles wet tracks as well, so put him clearly on top.
