Week 12 picks are in for Joe vs. the Pro and the Hero

Joe vs. the Pro and the Hero is the greatest resource for college football shenanigans on the internet. This is 13th season for Joe vs the pro and hero. Joe is reigning king of the picks.

Joe Goodman is the sports columnist for AL.com. The Pro is a football expert with a Harvard education. Ben is paralyzed and a student at Harvard. He's working hard to regain his ability to walk. Joe and the Pro are going to play college football games against Ben and his team. They are also going for a benefit run. It's a virtual event. You can join. Last week's team won. They beat Joe. This week the winner is The Hero.

Joe was 2-4 straight up and 3-2-1 against the spread last week. Pro was 3 straight-up and 2 against-the-spread. Hero was 4- 2 straight and 5-0-3 against.

Joe is 40-26 straight up, 34-30-2 against the spread. Pro is 42-24 straight-up, 31-33-1 against spread, Hero 48-18 straight, 48 -18 against.

No.4 TCU (10-0, 7-1, Big 12) plays at Baylor (6-4, 4-3, in Waco, Texas) on Saturday at 11 a.m. The game is being broadcast on Fox. TCU is 8-2 against the spread this season.

TCU is averaging 38 points per game against teams in the Big 12.

TCU beat Texas 17-10 last week. Bijan Robinson only rushed for 30 yards. Texas had 199 yards of total offense.

Joe's pick is TCU 39, Baylor 20. Pro's picks are in for Joe vs. the Pro and the Hero.

TCU has been very consistent all year. They won last week with a dominant defensive performance against Texas. Baylor has had a mixed season. The low point for the Bears was the 31-3 loss at home to Kansas State last Saturday.

Georgia is 10-0 and 7-1 in the SEC. Kentucky is 6-4 and 3-3 in SEC, and Georgia leads 61-12-2. The over/under for Kentucky-Georgia game is 49.5.

Georgia's defense has only allowed 824 rushing yards this season. Kentucky lost to Vanderbilt. Kentucky's basketball team lost against Michigan State.

Joe and Pro are picking Georgia to beat Kentucky. Georgia won the game last season. The teams are a combined 15-5 against the spread to the under this season, so Joe will play Kentucky and hold his nose.

The Bulldogs have won the SEC East again. The Wildcats have underperformed expectations. Hero doesn't think the Wildcat offense can compete with the mighty Bulldogs for the entire game.

No.7 USC (9-1, 7-0 Pac-12) at No.16 UCLA (8-2, 5-3 Pac,12). The game is being played at Rose Bowl, Pasadena, California. USC leads the series 49-33-7. The last four games involving USC have gone over the projected points totals.

There are more Pac-12 teams in the Top 25 of the College Football Playoff rankings than any other conference. USC's Caleb Williams is turning into an elite quarterback and UCLA's Dorian Thompson-Robinson has returned the Bruins to respectability. Joe takes the team with Tuli Tuipulotu, who has 11.5 sacks on the season.

Joe's pick is USC 42, UCLA 39. The line has probably changed because the Bruins lost to Arizona last week. Chip Kelly is a stellar 3-1 against the spread as a home dog.

UCLA lost to Arizona last week and is out of the playoffs. USC has bounced back from a close road loss to Utah and has the momentum to be a contender for the playoff. The Trojans defense will have a difficult time containing the Bruins offense led by dual threat quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

Joe picks Utah to beat USC. Joe likes the Utes to win. Oregon and Utah are playing for a chance to play in the Pac-12 championship game. The Ute's have been great on third downs this season, converting 50.8 percent of the time.

Joe and Pro are picking Utah to beat Oregon. Utah dominated the two games late last season 76-16. The Utes are 16-7 against the spread in the last eight seasons.

Joe and Hero pick the winner of the Pac-12 game between Utah and Oregon. The winner will play in the title game.

LSU (8-2) and UAB (5-5) are playing each other at Tiger Stadium on Saturday at 8 p.m. The game is a tie at 1-1.

DeWayne McBride is second in the nation in rushing yards per game (153.6) and second nationally in touchdowns with 17. Joe thinks UAB has never played well against teams in SEC.

LSU is playing a game against UAB. The Tigers are looking ahead to a showdown with Texas A&M next week. Uab is 5-5 and has no shot of playing in the CUSA championship game.

LSU beat Arkansas last week. UAB is coming off a win over North Texas. Hero says the Tigers will be very good this week and will make it difficult for the Blazers to keep up.

Western Kentucky (7-4) at Auburn (4-6) is on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn, Ala. Auburn leads the series 2-0.

Auburn is undefeated at home under interim coach Cadillac Williams. Auburn's defense has forced four turnovers in its last two games. WKU is no pushover, but Auburn’s defense should be able to force some turnovers against the Hilltoppers.

Auburn won its first SEC game since Sept. 24. Western Kentucky has the No.4 pass offense in college football. The Hilltoppers defense and special teams have 30 takeaways in 10 games.

Auburn won last week's game over Texas A&M. Western Kentucky has struggled against good defenses. The Tigers defense should be able to keep enough pressure on the Hilltopper quarterback Austin Reed.
