Team news

Man United had to cope without a number of players for their midweek victory over Burnley but Erik ten Hag will be hoping the same side will still have enough to see off Forest, although returns for some of those absentees will be most welcome.

Harry Maguire will hope to recover from his bout of illness in time to feature alongside Victor Lindelof in the heart of the defence, with Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez still not back from international duty. Jadon Sancho is not expected to return just yet, while Axel Tuanzebe remains out, but Diogo Dalot (hamstring) could return.

As for the visitors, they claimed a welcome morale boost with their comfortable victory over Blackburn on Wednesday and manager Steve Cooper could stick with the same side in order to continue building momentum ahead of their trip to the north west.

Moussa Niakhate (thigh), Cheikhou Kouyate (thigh), Giulian Biancone (knee) and Omar Richards (calf) are ruled out but Serge Aurier (calf), Morgan Gibbs-White and Wayne Hennessey will aim to pass late fitness tests - the latter of which is expected to replace Dean Henderson between the sticks as he is ineligible to face his parent club.
