Reds starter Ben Lively is making his first start in MLB since 2018 on Friday night after spending the last several years overseas.

The right-hander has traditionally experienced the most trouble with lefty bats, but Judge has crushed same-handed matchups to the tune of a .359 average, 1.325 OPS and .532 wOBA on the road.

Judge has laced nine of his 14 hits in that split for extra bases and boasts 73 total bases in just 35 games already this season.

Rizzo has faced Lively just three times in his career, but he’s slugged two homers against him in that small sample.

Lively has spent the last few seasons overseas pitching in Korea and has been impressive in two appearances thus far, but he’s allowed a .302 average, .387 wOBA and 1.8 HR/9 to the 279 left-handed hitters he’s faced in his career.

Rizzo is wielding a blistering hot bat coming in despite an 0-for-4 tally Thursday, as he owned a .339 average with four home runs in May prior to that hitless showing.

Finally, consider Lively is allowing a .375 average on his most-often thrown pitch, the four-seam fastball. In turn, Rizzo is an excellent fastball hitter, boasting a .351 average, .579 slugging percentage and .426 wOBA against that offering this season.

Our Mets game odds for tonight give you all odds vs. the Guardians, as well as NL East and World Series futures odds.

Alonso already has 36 RBI in 44 games, partly the byproduct of his 15 homers.

With that type of production, it’s no surprise the slugger has strong numbers with men on base and men in scoring position. Alonso has a .286 average in the latter and a .298 average specifically in the former.

Guardians starter Cal Quantrill has actually been a more effective pitcher on the road, but Alonso has three surging hitters in Brandon Nimmo, Francisco Lindor and Jeff McNeil, all who’ll be hitting from the left side against righty, hitting ahead of him.

The combination of Alonso’s prodigious power, the hitters that could set him up for RBI opportunities and the Mets’ solid projected run total of 4.5 all make this prop one worth considering at plus money.
