Leeds United's summer signings are mainstays of Gregg Berhalter's squad. Zack Steffen earned rave reviews for his performance against France's Kylian Mbappe in the last Nations League break. Huddersfield's centre-back/left- back is a big part of the Japan set-up. Alex Norrington-Davies is out of favour with Rob Page's Wales squad but he's a regular for the past year. He's injured and a doubt to play for Iran. Australia's midfielder is in a tough group with Mexico and Argentina. Boro's next manager will be hoping to keep him fit.

Tyler Adams, Callum Elder, Illan Meslier, Pascal Struijk, Marc Roca, Reda Khadra, Daniel Jebbison, Massimo Luongo and Ben Tetteh are all in the Yorkshire contingent of players who are hoping to play at the Qatar World Cup. They are from Leeds United, Sheffield United and Huddersfield Town, Hull City and Middlesbrough. They play in Premier League and Under-21s. The players are also from the Championship.
