2022 TVG.com Haskell Stakes Betting Odds and Contenders Preview

The 2022 TVG.com Haskell Stakes (G1) has drawn a field of eight. Taiba, the winner of the Santa Anita Derby ( G1), is the morning line favorite. Jack Christopher, undefeated in four starts, stretches out to two turns for the first time in the Haskell. Arkansas Derby winner Cyberknife and Florida Derby and G2 winner White Abarrio also make the field.

Monmouth Park drew the field for the 2022 Haskell Stakes on July 20. The live odds are expected to fluctuate up until post time.

Howling Time is a three-time winner. He was nosed out in the Matt Winn last month.

King of Hollywood finished seventh in the Pegasus last time. He has the most experience in this year's Haskell Stakes.

White Abarrio finished 16th in Kentucky. He came second in the Ohio Derby last out.

Jack Christopher has won all four starts. He has yet to try two turns.

Benevengo won over a dry track last time out. He's the only horse in the field with a victory against older open-company winners.

The TVG.com Haskell Stakes is a stepping stone to the Kentucky Derby. Authentic, Maximum Security, American Pharoah, Big Brown, and War Emblem have won the Haskell. Preakness St.akes winners Point Given, Rachel Alexandra, Lookin at Lucky, Exaggerator, Touch Gold, Good Magic, Bayern, have all won Haskell before.

The Haskell Stakes is the biggest day of the Monmouth Park meeting. The card also includes some valuable undercard stakes. Some of best horses, jockeys, and trainers in the country are shipping to Monport for this full day.

Monmouth Park is a popular thoroughbred venue in New Jersey. The famous TVG.com Haskell Invitational is run at Monmouth every year. Monmouth Park has been a thoroughfare since 1870. It is less than 90 minutes from New York City. The Haskell is Mon mmouth's flagship race. In 1997 a crowd of 39,000 people bet almost $10 million on the day.

The Haskell Stakes takes place on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 5:45 pm Eastern at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, New Jersey. Taiba is the morning-line favorite at 7-5. Bob Baffert has won the Haskell 9 times. Craig Perret, Martin Garcia and Mike Smith have each won three times in the race. Mandaloun won in 2021.
