The NFL Week 6 schedule is loaded with 15 matchups, bringing a plethora of betting opportunities to the table. One matchup that football fanatics are looking forward to is Sunday’s 1 p.m. ET showdown between the undefeated San Francisco 49ers and injury-plagued Cleveland Browns.

The 49ers improved to 5-0 on the 2023 campaign with Sunday night’s huge 42-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys. Meanwhile, the Browns are coming off their bye week and hope to find better results after falling 28-3 to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4.

Can San Francisco continue to flirt with perfection? Or will Cleveland do the improbable by upsetting the Super Bowl favorites?

49ers vs Browns Prediction — NFL Week 6

Even though the Browns are feeling well-rested after their bye, a few things are working against them this week.

For starters, quarterback Deshaun Watson’s health is still up in the air. The veteran gunslinger is dealing with a shoulder injury and there’s no telling if he’ll be good to go for Sunday. If he can’t play, it’s expected that third-string QB P.J. Walker will start in his place.

Cleveland was forced to start rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson in Watson’s place back in Week 4. The result was a disaster as DTR went 19-of-36 (52.8%) in the pocket for 121 passing yards with three interceptions.

Truthfully, it doesn’t matter who starts against San Francisco’s elite defense. The 49ers are only allowing 13.6 points per game (No. 1) and 4.4 yards per play (No. 3) while only allowing more than 16 points once through five games.

Furthermore, the 49ers are tied for the most interceptions (8) and have racked up the fifth-most INT yards (118), proving that they can make the Browns pay for their mistakes.

Credit should be given where it’s due and it isn’t like the Browns are slouches on defense, either. Cleveland allows an NFL-low 3.8 yards per play while only allowing 15.0 PPG (T-No. 2).

Kevin Stefanski’s team also applies pressure on 30.3% of dropbacks, meaning the San Francisco offensive line needs to do everything in its power to protect QB Brock Purdy.

But even with a ton of talent across the board, the Browns’ defense has yet to face a team as dangerous as the 49ers. San Francisco can do damage in multiple ways, aided by an embarrassment of offensive talent in the form of names like Christian McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk, and more.

Sunday’s forecast is also shaping up to be rainy and cold, meaning both sides could be forced to run the ball more. If that’s the case, I give San Francisco the edge. The Niners generate the third-most rushing yards in the league, whereas the Browns went from averaging 202 rushing yards in games where Nick Chubb played to 85.5 without him.

At the end of the day, the 49ers outclass the Browns across the board and shouldn’t have an issue leaving Cleveland with a victory, even if weather winds up playing a factor.

Prediction: 49ers 24, Browns 16

Bet: 49ers -6 (-110 on BetOnline)

49ers vs Browns Player Prop — Week 6

Although 49ers vs. Browns player prop odds aren’t available yet, let’s look ahead by projecting a George Kittle anytime touchdown.

Kittle was absolutely electric against the Cowboys, hauling in three passes for 67 yards and his first three TDs of the season. He’s in a good spot to score again because even though the Browns have allowed the fewest receptions to tight ends, they’ve still allowed two TDs to the position.

With poor weather likely forcing Purdy to make more quick and short passes, expect Kittle to see enough volume to score.

  • The 49ers and Browns will collide on Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023.
  • The 49ers and Browns will play each other at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio.
  • Kickoff for the upcoming SF vs. CLE matchup is slated for 1 p.m. ET.
