Anytime and First Touchdown Scorer Predictions for Week 5

Week 5 in the NFL begins with a matchup between titans minnows on Thursday Night Football as we get started with our NFL anytime and first touchdown scorer predictions for Week 5 based on the odds from ourbest NFL betting sites.

Much like the Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders, our NFL anytime and first touchdown scorer predictions are off to a rather slow start this season as we're down 2.9 units through four weeks.

However, we can turn around our fate with a couple of winning tickets much quicker than these teams can rack up wins plodding through their respective schedules as we start our NFL predictions for Week 6.

We've looked at our Bears vs. Commanders prediction and our Thursday Night Football player props, but let's add to the excitement!

Our anytime and first touchdown scorer predictions for Week 5 complement our NFL player props Week 5 as we look to get the better of our best sports betting apps.

Anytime touchdown scorer predictions: Week 5

Bears vs. Commanders anytime touchdown scorer prediction: Sam Howell, Commanders, QB (+350 via Caesars) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Running back Brian Robinson Jr. leads the 2-2 Commanders with three rushing and four total touchdowns this season, and he has outsnapped fellow Washington rusher Antonio Gibson in all but one of the first four games.

However, he's coming off his first fumble of the season in last week's overtime loss to the rival Philadelphia Eagles. While it was fortunately recovered by teammate Terry McLaurin for a touchdown, that slip will likely cause head coach Ron Rivera some hesitation at the goal line in Thursday's very winnable game.

I was first interested in Gibson in this market, but his best price for a touchdown is +230 via BetMGM and BetRivers. While much better than Robinson's -115 odds, it's still a little steep for a back projected for just 0.2 touchdowns and with only 13 total carries on the season.

Howell is also projected for 0.2 rushing scores on Thursday and already has a rushing score this season. Despite Washington ranking near the top of the league in pass-play percentage he has a meager four passing touchdowns. With a chance to show off his legs in a head-to-head matchup with the Bears' Justin Fields (see our Justin Fields NFL player props here), we can secure these market-best +350 odds from DraftKings and Caesars.

DraftKings' 50% profit boost for Thursday Night Football let's us bring these odds up to +525.

Our Brenden Schaeffer is expecting a big game from Howell's arm with his Bears vs. Commanders parlay picks.
