Baltimore Orioles vs New York Yankees Prediction 7-29-23 MLB Picks

The New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles meet Saturday in MLB action from Oriole Park. This will be the second installment in a three-game AL East series over the weekend. On Friday in the opener the Orioles eked out a low-scoring victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

New York Yankees

The Yankees split a two-game Subway Series versus the Mets this week, winning 3-1 Wednesday. Harrison Bader notched three hits and two runs in the victory. On Friday versus the Orioles, New York gave up a walk-off homer in a tough 1-0 loss. Aaron Judge drew three walks and DJ LeMahieu had two hits but no one could cash in.

As starter for the Saturday game it’ll be the Yankees’ Clarke Schmidt. Over his 21 games (20 starts) this year Schmidt is 6-6 with a 4.33 ERA and 97 Ks in 99.2 innings. Schmidt got a win over the Royals on July 21 in his last appearance with three earned in 5.2 frames.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’m going to take a stab on the Yankees here. Probably staying away however, as it’s tough to trust New York to do anything these days. In any case, Schmidt has won consecutive starts, posting 11.2 combined innings with five earned on eight hits and two walks. Wells has had worse luck in his last pair with eight earned in 6.1 innings total. On Friday New York wasted another good start by Gerrit Cole (7.0 innings; three hits; zero earned; zero walks; five Ks) with a flat offensive performance. Credit to the Orioles’ pen, but I think New York could get revenge here. Not touching it regardless.
