I might take a stab on the Tigers in this one. Manning is pitching well over his last three games. In that time he’s got 17.2 total innings, one earned, eight hits, four walks and a 2-0 record. As for Schmidt, he had a rough game August 14 versus Atlanta (2.1 innings; eight earned) but since then he’s got just three earned in 12.1 innings. On Wednesday Detroit had a pretty good outing from everyone on the mound except Brendan White (and Wentz, to an extent) but the offense has been rough lately. The Tigers have just five combined runs over their last three outings so the bats are going to have to liven up here.
