Best bets on Lions vs Seahawks

The Detroit Lions came out roaring in the NFL Season Opener against the Chiefs last week, winning 21-20 against the defending Super Bowl Champions. With a 1-0 start and chatter flying about their Super Bowl odds, the Lions are now taking on the 0-1 Seattle Seahawks at home.

Here are the odds for the matchup.

The Lions made a big statement in Week 1 beating the defending Super Bowl Champions, Patrick Mahomes and Co. Now in Week 2, their odds to win the Super Bowl got a bump from 22-to-1 up to 16-to-1.

Detroit picked up some key rookie talent on the defensive end. And those players showed up in the opener to help contain Mahomes and get the win. They’re also pushing an excellent run offense supporting Jared Goff behind a great line. We expect them to keep improving as the season continues.

The Seahawks looked rough in Game 1 against the Los Angeles Rams. Geno Smith won comeback player of the year in 2022-2023 and snagged a three-year deal with Seattle. But last Sunday he looked out of inspiration. He threw for 112 yards against a weak Rams defense.

Seattle was expected to get a fairly easy win in the LA matchup, so they really could use a boost. But we advise you not to put money on that one.

Nobody wants to bet on the Seahawks right now. They’re 1-9 against the spread in their last ten games, including last season. That puts them at the coldest team against the spread right now. The Lions, on the other hands, are the hottest team against the spread and on a 9-2 straight-up run.

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell is 24-10 ATS. But are the oddsmakers caught up? We think so and we’re not betting on the spread for this as a best bet.

Instead, look at the over. At 47 (-110) on Caesars, we think the over is a good bet. The Lions may see this as a revenge game with a 48-45 loss last year against the Seahawks. We think both teams will be aiming to score high.
