Caesars code SLMLIVE1000 for $1,000 Lions vs. Broncos bet

NFL Saturday is almost here. Week 15 brings us three Saturday games, so you can keep the sports betting action rolling between Thursday Night Football and the NFL regular Sunday schedule. The Saturday slate features matchups between Minnesota and Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Indianapolis and Denver and Detroit.

The Detroit Lions (9-4) have had a slight fall from grace since losing to the 5-8 Chicago Bears in a key division rivalry. On the other hand, Denver is trending up, with a win against the L.A. Chargers putting them into playoff contention. They’re just one game behind the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West.

The game has playoff implications for both and the oddsmakers expect a close game. Here are the lines courtesy of Caesars Sportsbook.

The 9-4 Detroit Lions took a tough loss to the Chicago Bears last week. Still, they’re in the lead in the NFC North and look like the most complete team in the division.

The Lions were 3-point favorites in Sunday’s game, but failures on both sides of the ball led to a decisive 28-13 loss. Head Coach Dan Campbell told the media it came down to a failure in discipline. The second half, in particular, showcased a Lions squad that just couldn’t connect, with just 76 yards of total offense. They also got eight penalties compared, to Campbell’s point.

Jared Goff had his worst game of the year, throwing for just 161 yards. He was sacked four times and threw two interceptions too. The defense struggled, continuing a concerning trend over the past few weeks.

The good news is that the Lions are still favored to beat the Broncos, and we expect them to do it. They’ve bounced back from every loss this season, though perhaps less convincingly in Week 13 against New Orleans (after losing to Green Bay 29-22).

They’re 2-2 over the last four games, but both losses came at the hands of division rivals – which is always a different kind of challenge.

This will be a big week for the AFC standings. Currently, six teams have a 7-6 record. The winners this week will push themselves closer to playoff safety, while the losers will have to contend with potential elimination.

The Broncos are one of those six teams, alongside the Pittsburgh Steelers, Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, Cincinnati Bengals and the Buffalo Bills.

Denver started poorly this season with three straight losses and a 1-5 record in their first six games. But in Week 7, a win over the Green Bay Packers turned into a five-game winning streak.

Now they’re breathing down Kansas City’s neck for the top spot in the AFC West.

Russell Wilson has clocked 2,609 yards and 23 touchdowns. He’s tied for fifth in the league in touchdowns with Patrick Mahomes and Jordan Love. On the downside, his total interceptions ballooned to eight after he got picked three times in their Week 13 loss to Houston.

Denver has all the momentum right now. They need a W more than the Lions, with the AFC standings so tight in the middle.

We think the Broncos can at least keep this game close, if not take the win outright.
