BetMGM: Analyzing Martinsville's featured matchups

William Byron finished fourth at Richmond Raceway last weekend. He was racing Martin Truex Jr. in a two-car race over the final 20 laps. Byron and TrueX will race each other at BetMGM next week. Trueix is trying to win the Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 400.  Before Truey’s first win at Martinsville Speedway in 2020, no driver had won the race”s grandfather clock in back-to-back years since Rusty Wallace won four straight from 1993-96.

Martin Truex Jr. is seeking his third straight win at Martinsville in the last three years. William Byron is dominating the featured matchup betting. He has 75% of the tickets and 90% handle.

Chase Elliott and Denny Hamlin are going head-to-head at Martinsville. Elliott has the second-highest driver rating at the track since 2019 (116.4). The public likes Hamlins in race-winner betting (14.6% of the handle), but Elliott is the favorite.

Kyle Busch is the favorite to win at Martinsville. Kyle Larson has only two career wins in 44 short-track starts. The ticket share is split 50/50, but Larson holds 91% of the handle.

Ryan Blaney is one win away from being the championship frontrunner. He is the third favorite to win at Martinsville. Ross Chastain is less experienced than Blaney. The sportsbook is giving Blaine his best odds of the season.
