Betway starting goalie bet of the day: Bet on a low event night for Jake Oettinger in game 6 against the Seattle Kraken

Welcome back to Betway Bets of the Day brought to you by NHL betting odds site Betway!

The Toronto Maple Leafs are heading home after a 3-2 overtime loss to the Florida Panthers in game five. Nick Cousins’ second of the playoffs sent the Panthers to their first conference finals since 1996.

The Panthers took a first period 2-0 lead, Toronto cut the deficient in half with a Morgan Rielly second period goal and Rielly looked like he tied the game later in the second period, but after a lengthy review, it was deemed that the puck didn’t cross the line prior to the refs whistle. Much to the chagrin of the Leafs faithful.

William Nylander eventually tied it for the Leafs in the second as Scotiabank Arena erupted but Sergei Bobrovsky shut the door on the Leafs after that making an astonishing 50 saves on 52 shots to earn first star honors.

In the western conference, the Edmonton Oilers’ power play was great, scoring three goals on four opportunities, including two goals with the extra man from Connor McDavid, but it wasn’t enough as Vegas took game five 4-3.

Jack Eicel excelled for the Knights scoring three points and getting the primary assist on Nicholas Hague’s game winning goal. Adin Hill has a solid night between the pipes making 32 saves on 35 shots. Game 6 will be on Sunday in Edmonton.

A light Saturday on the schedule with only one game as the Dallas Stars look to join the Florida Panthers and Carolina Hurricanes into the third round. Here is a goalie prop I like for tonight’s game.

Goalie Prop

The Dallas Stars will look to finish off the Seattle Kraken but don’t expect a high event game. In the two games in Seattle this playoffs, Oettinger has made 28 saves which is an average of only 14 per game. Going by those metrics, the smart bet is the under tonight.

Last Game Bet

Sergei Bobrovsky to make over 29.5 saves at -118.

Bobrovsky was a few minutes away from doubling his over in saves, he ended up with 50 and took the Panthers to the third round. Our record in the playoffs is now 7-6.
