Braves manager Brian Snitker told reporters Tuesday that they haven’t made a final decision yet on a Game 3 starter. It’ll most likely be rookie A.J. Smith-Shawver drawing the starting assignment, but the Braves appear to be still discussing the possibility of using an opener instead of going the traditional route. There should be some clarity at some point on Wednesday, but fantasy managers should expect Smith-Shawver to play a prominent role in their pitching plan. It’ll be Aaron Nola taking the ball for the Phillies as the series shifts to Philadelphia.

Rhys Hoskins (knee) has progressed to facing live pitching. Hoskins will continue his rehabilitation process from late-March surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee at the Phillies’ spring training facility in Clearwater, Florida. The 30-year-old impending free agent remains a long shot to return this postseason, but could be an option for Philadelphia at designated hitter, if they manage to advance to the World Series.

The total has gone OVER in 6 of Atlanta’s last 7 games on the road

Atlanta is 5-1 SU in its last 6 games when playing on the road against Philadelphia

Philadelphia is 5-0 ATS in its last 5 games

The Phillies are 8-1 SU in their last 9 games at home

Give me Philadelphia. Aaron Nola’s expected batting average against is .236, while his expected slugging percentage is .433 and his xwOBA is sitting at .306 against the current Atlanta roster. Those are pretty strong numbers against a Braves team that can absolutely mash. Meanwhile, Atlanta’s starting pitching issues have already been a problem in this series and I don’t see that trend halting tonight. The Phillies can mash as well.
