Bryson DeChambeau fires dig at Zach Johnson over Ryder Cup snub following another LIV Golf win

Bryson Dechambeau has taken aim at Zach Johnson for not including him in his Ryder Cup plans.

Johnson, who is captain of the US Ryder Cup team, chose to select just one member from the LIV Golf circuit for the upcoming competition.

That was Brooks Koepka as a number of big name players missed out.

Instead, his six wildcard picks were Koepka, Jordan Spieth, Collin Morikawa, Sam Bruns, Rickie Fowler and Justin Thomas.

DeChambeau was among the notable omissions, having been included in both the 2018 and 2021 Ryder Cup for Team USA.

He held a record of 2–0–1 last time out and won his Sunday singles match against Sergio Garcia to help his team to victory.

Dechambeau spoke about his exclusion after lifting the individual title at LIV Golf Chicago, his second win on the Saudi-backed circuit, and wasn't happy.

He said: “If you look at it, it would have been nice to at least just have a call.

"There are numerous people that I think Zach should have called out here, and we didn’t get that.

“I understand, I get it, but we’re nothing different. We’re still competing. We’re still working super hard to be the best we possibly can be.

“I don’t know if it was back ended or whatnot. I’m not up to make that discussion available.

“I have no idea what it was or who made that decision, but it would have been nice for them to consider us more because we’re pretty damn good out here.”
