Capitals alumnus Aaron Volpatti hopes to inspire people with his book ‘FIGHTER’

Aaron Volpatti is a former NHL player and a member of the Washington Capitals and Vancouver Canucks. He suffered second and third-degree burns on over 40% of his body during a camping trip at 19 years old and had a ruptured disc in his neck ten years later. Vol pours all his heart into his book 'FIGHTER' in hopes of inspiring others who have been through similar circumstances.

Aaron Volpatti is on a book tour promoting his memoir, "FIGHTER: Defying The NHL Odds". Vol patti suffered second and third-degree burns on over 40% of his body when he was 19 years old and a ruptured disc in his neck 10 years later. He will attend the Washington Capitals' game against the Edmonton Oilers and sign copies of the book for fans. 40 percent of book's profits will go to charity. For the next week, the profits from the first week will be split between the D.C. Firefighters Burn Foundation and Garnet Hathaway's foundation, Hath's Heroes.
