P.J. Higgins was in his first extended stay in the big leagues with the Chicago Cubs this summer. He was going through an extended batting slump.

P.J. Higgins is having a successful season in the Major League Baseball. He was injured last year and had to start the season at Triple-A Iowa. After being called up to the majors, he's played well at the various positions for the Cubs. The team is playing a three-game series with the Mets at Citi Field. He's held down first base and played some third for them. Manager David Ross praises his versatility. It's been six years since Higgins played in a major league. "I've always felt I could compete at this level," he says. His father, Duke, is his former coach.
