The Toronto Blue Jays and the Chicago White Sox meet Wednesday in MLB action from Guaranteed Rate Field. This will be the second installment in a three-game series. In the Tuesday opener, the Blue Jays took a close victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Toronto Blue Jays

The Jays had zero luck against the rival Red Sox over the weekend, losing in a three-game sweep. On Tuesday versus Chicago, Toronto scored three in the sixth during a 4-3 win. Starter Chris Bassitt posted 6.0 innings with three earned on six hits and a walk.

For the starter job on Wednesday, the Jays will go with Jose Berrios. In his 17 starts this year Berrios is 8-6 with a 3.74 ERA and 95 Ks in 101.0 innings. Berrios is 80-60 with a 4.19 ERA in 197 career games (196 starts).

Chicago White Sox

Over on the White Sox’ side, they took on the A’s over the weekend and lost two of three. In the Tuesday game Chicago had seven team hits. Lucas Giolito lasted 6.0 innings in the start with two earned on four hits and two walks.

For the starter gig on Wednesday the Sox are sending out Lance Lynn. In his 17 starts so far Lynn is 5-8 with a 6.47 ERA and 116 strikeouts over 96.0 innings. Lynn is 128-92 with a 3.68 ERA in 326 career games (302 starts).

The Jays are 4-0 in their last four Wednesday games and the under is 18-7-1 in their last 26 Wednesday games. The under is 7-3 in Toronto’s last 10 in game two of a series.

Meanwhile, the Sox are 13-4 in their last 17 in game two of a series and the over is 3-0-1 in their last four Wednesday games. The over is 4-1-1 in Chicago’s last six in game two of a series.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll take a stab on the Sox. This one’s really going to come down to starting pitching performance, so I could go either way. Lynn is 1-1 in his last three starts with a combined 11 earned in 18.2 innings. As for Berrios, he’s 1-2 over his most recent trio with 11 earned in 16.0 innings. In the Tuesday game, Chicago didn’t really have much of a presence outside of the sixth inning, but I think the Sox have a shot.
