Coaches poll prediction: Tennessee, Clemson, Alabama losses open door

Georgia is expected to be the new No. 1 in this week's USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll. Georgia's win over Tennessee gives them a 14-point lead in the SEC East. Tennessee shouldn't fall too far and should be no lower than No 6. Clemson's loss to Notre Dame raises questions about where it will fall in next week. Alabama's defeat to LSU ends its playoff hopes. TCU has a chance to rise to No 4 after beating Texas Tech.

Georgia is the current national champion. Georgia beat Alabama 27-13. Georgia is 9-0.

Ohio State is still the favorite to win the coaches poll. The Buckeyes beat Northwestern 21-7 on Saturday.

Michigan is 9-0. Michigan beat Rutgers 52-17 on Saturday. The Wolverines scored 28 points in the third quarter.

TCU won the game against Texas Tech. The team is unbeaten. Texas, Baylor and Iowa State are the last three opponents of the regular season.

Hendon Hooker is no longer the overwhelming favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. Tennessee is now No. 5 in the SEC and the playoff race.

Oregon is 8-1 and the winner of the Pac-12 championship game. The team's next three games are against Washington, Utah and Oregon State.

Southern California beat California 40-35 on Saturday. The Trojans are now 8-1. They lost to Utah 43-42 last month.

LSU will be the highest-ranked two-loss team in the country. The Tigers will land somewhere in back end of the top 10.

Clemson might fall to No. 10 or out of the top 10 after getting lambasted by the Fighting Irish.

Mississippi is ranked No. 10. The Rebels play Alabama next weekend in a game that will determine second place in the SEC West and a New Year's Six berth.
